Dining chair from Fredericia FurnitureJ39 Mogensen Chair Anniversary Edition
Anniversary Edition
In connection with the 75th anniversary of the folk chair, a special edition of the J39 "folk chair" is introduced with a seat of seagrass, a classic weave used for many Danish design chairs.
The seagrass seat is a sustainable choice as it continues to grow after being cut, meaning there is no need for replanting.
The 'J39 Mogensen' chair, designed by the popular Børge Mogensen, is one of the most iconic designs in Danish furniture architecture and one of the furniture pieces that time and time again inspires modern Danish design. The chair has achieved its iconic status through its versatility and simple but perfected design, which is why it is better known today as the 'people's chair'. And its versatility transcends both interiors and generations.
The chair's materials are carefully selected to create a design that ages gracefully and lasts for decades without going out of fashion or losing its beautiful expression. With a frame made from solid woods, beautiful lacquer finishes and visible joints, Fredericia Furniture proves that they are able to recreate the fantastic joinery craftsmanship that gives an authentic feel. The seat in natural paper wicker is a classic in Børge Mogensen's design universe and contrasts beautifully with the solid wood while ensuring a great seating experience.
- Base in light oiled oak with seat in seagrass.
- When cleaning oiled wood, a mild solution of soap shavings or a cleaner for oiled wood surfaces is recommended. New oil must then be added to prevent the wood from drying out.
- Original design by Børge Mogensen, produced by Fredericia Furniture (1947)
