In 1964, Verner Panton designed the Fun series - a collection of lamps whose shade was created from small circular seashells in a beautiful changing mother-of-pearl. The shells are placed in small rows with discreet steel rings and hung side by side on an elegant chrome or brass frame. Together, the shells create a beautiful and not least unique design, which in the wall-mounted version gives the illusion of growing out of the wall.
Panton was not only known for creating designs that challenged visual expression. His designs often appealed to all the human senses. The shells of the Fun lamps beautifully reflect the light and a gentle sound is created when the shells are in motion and strike each other.
