The Entrance series was originally produced by Aksel Kjærsgaard in 1950-1959 and is now relaunched by Kai Kristiansen & Friends. It has been upgraded with a beautiful finish on the back, so the furniture can now be freestanding.

Born in 1929, designer Kai Kristiansen was apprenticed as a cabinetmaker before enrolling at the prestigious Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts in Copenhagen in 1948 under influential designer Kaare Klint.

At the age of 26, he opened his own studio where he designed his own furniture, which soon became known as the Danish modern style. His designs were produced by well-known Danish manufacturers such as Feldballes Møbelfabrik, Fritz Hansen, Vildbjerg Møbelfabrik, Magnus Olesen etc.

Today, Kai Kristiansen furniture is a Danish tradition where quality, responsiblity, craftsmanship and attention to detail really come through in the beautiful timeless designs.
