The beautiful and lightweight PIA CHAIR was designed by Poul Cadovius in 1959. Poul Cadovius was a Danish furniture architect and manufacturer. He is world renowned for his award winning shelving systems, chairs and fibreglass components. Poul Cadovius wanted to create a chair in the spirit of the times and was inspired by the designer chairs of the 1950s. However, he wanted the chair to have a lighter design both in weight and in design expression. The chair was therefore designed according to the concept "less is more". "Less is more" is a concept that focuses on using as little material as possible.
PIA CHAIR is made of solid wood, with a hand-woven rounding at the top of the rear legs, finger joints on the front legs, a hand-woven seat made of paper cord and a backrest that is form-fitted. Please note that the product is partially handmade from natural materials and therefore irregularities and variations in colour, finish and size may occur, which is part of the unique look of the product.
'PIA CHAIR' is also available in black wicker. If you would like this, please feel free to contact us by email or phone.
