Introducing the Atlas Coffee Table from New Works, a masterpiece of furniture design. Created in 2022 by visionary John Astbury, this exquisite piece is a tribute to the mythical Titan, Atlas, who carried the weight of the heavens on his shoulders. Similarly, the Atlas table stands firm and steady, supporting its spacious travertine tabletop with unwavering strength.

The interplay and contrast between the table's sturdy legs and its large surface is at the heart of its design philosophy. Each element accentuates the other, giving rise to a distinctive presence and a robust, brutalist feel. Finding inspiration in architectural history, Astbury infused Atlas with references to porticos and colonnades. Yet its essence lies in the elemental archetype of the column-and-span structure, made up of columns and spans.

By incorporating simple geometric shapes, the circle and the square, the Atlas coffee table harmoniously combines these fundamental archetypes to create a character that is both timeless and unique.
