The first comprehensive overview of Chloé's collections, presented through catwalk photography and published in collaboration with Chloé to celebrate the house's 70th anniversary in 2022.
Founded by Egyptian-born Gaby Aghion in 1952, Chloé pioneered luxury prêt-à-porter that was all about lightness and femininity, offering an elegant haute bohemian style for the modern, liberated woman. The house discovered and hired a young Karl Lagerfeld as early as the 1960s. He was part of the house for over two decades and achieved fame and recognition worldwide through his Chloé work.
This unique publication begins with a brief history of the Chloé house, then explores the collections, which are organized chronologically. Each new era in Chloé's history is introduced with a brief overview and biography of the new designer, while each collection is introduced with a short text revealing its inspirations and highlights, and illustrated with carefully selected images from the catwalk. The book concludes with an extensive reference section, including a comprehensive index.
