The J52B chair is a design classic, designed by Børge Mogensen. In addition to being a classic, it is also a comfortable chair that can be used in several different ways, such as a dining chair, a free-standing piece of furniture or a relaxation chair. The chair has also been sold in the United States and has become known as President Kennedy's favorite chair to relax in. The furniture is made from FSC-certified beech wood from European forests, and as wood is a natural material, there may be differences in the shade of each chair. In 2013, the chair was adapted to today's sizes and seating comfort.

Ever since he started as a furniture architect at FDB Furniture at the age of 28, Børge Mogensen has designed furniture that has delighted many homes around the world and created iconic classics that all furniture enthusiasts know and love. From 1942 to 1950, he led FDB Furniture and created the foundation for what made Danish furniture design world-famous. Børge Mogensen was trained as a furniture architect at both the School of Arts and Crafts and the Furniture School of the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts and has worked in the studios of Kaare Klint and Mogens Kock.
