Dining Table from Fredericia FurnitureMogensen C18 Table 6292 by Børge Mogensen
Børge Mogensen's 'C18' Dining Table, first designed in 1947, was one of the tables in Mogensen's growing portfolio of unique and functional tables that over time became timeless classics on both a national and international level. Mogensen's tables were all strongly characterized by his design philosophy of furniture functionality, transparency of construction and exquisite quality in the form of good materials. In addition, the tables were also characterized by the Shaker movement's 'form-follow-function' principle and their innovative methods in carpentry. Both Børge Mogensen himself and his colleague Hans J. Wegner were among the Danish designers who helped bridge the gap between Shaker design and Scandinavian minimalism, which is why Mogensen's table is also known as the 'Shaker table'.
'C18' is designed for everyday people and their lives, which is clearly reflected in the table's construction and design. Simple lines characterize the design, with rounded edges for a soft expression. The frame is designed with two slender table legs that join together in a foot at the end, which is both practical as it avoids unnecessary table legs, but also a beautiful solution that is visually impressive. Finishing details such as brass fittings and milled arches give the table that final touch that doesn't overpower the discreet and sober design of the furniture.

- To clean soap-treated and untreated wood, use a soft cloth wrung out in a mild solution of soap shavings. Always wipe in the grain direction of the wood. Never use water on untreated wood surfaces if it can be avoided.
- When cleaning oiled wood, a mild solution of soap shavings or a cleaner for oiled wood surfaces is recommended. New oil must then be added to prevent the wood from drying out.
