ROYAL SYSTEM®

The innovative and original ROYAL SYSTEM® was designed by the iconic Danish designer Poul Cadovius in 1948. Poul Cadovius' ROYAL SYSTEM® was one of the world's first wall-hung shelving systems, and the shelving system can today be called one of Denmark's greatest furniture design successes ever. His reason for wanting the shelving system to hang on the wall was this: 'Most of us live at the bottom of a square. If we put the walls down as an extension of the floor, we get a lot of space to live in." In 2010, dk3 relaunched Poul Cadovius' ROYAL SYSTEM® with the same timeless spirit, in oak and walnut. The timeless spirit has been preserved by keeping the familiar shelves, hangers and cabinets, in a brand new splendid carpentry quality. Created for modern interior design and future needs, ROYAL SYSTEM® can create up to 16 million individual configurations.

Poul Cadovius was one of Denmark's most successful designers and manufacturers. He is best known as an architect, designer, manufacturer and self-taught inventor. Poul Cadovius received over 400 patents in his lifetime, so you could call him an ambitious designer who went his own way.

• Hangers: raw brass or stainless steel
• We recommend a maximum weight of 15 kg per shelf in order to preserve the structure of the shelf. (However, the shelves may bend slightly over time.)
