The Kay Bojesen Monkey is a classic that moves with us throughout our lives - from the nursery to becoming a beloved design icon in our own homes. The first monkey was created in 1951 and is still produced in the same way today.

The reworked monkey is composed of a mix of woods including teak, walnut, oak, ash and maple. All the woods are surplus wood that would otherwise have gone to waste. With its responsible starting point, the Monkey not only points back in time, but also forward. The Reworked Monkey was born out of a principle of responsible craftsmanship and design. As the monkey is produced from the leftover wood available, each monkey will therefore look different depending on what wood is left over on the day the monkey is produced.
