2 Person Sofa from Fredericia FurnitureMogensen Sofa 2335 by Børge Mogensen
As the last piece of furniture designed by Børge Mogensen before his death in 1972, the sofa stands as an epoch-making point in the design history of one of the greatest icons. The sofa is an exemplary reflection of Mogensen's character with its geometric mix of horizontal and vertical lines. The minimalist design was the finishing touch to his enormous portfolio of exclusive upholstered furniture, which, with its popularity and versatility, succeeded in making luxury a German staple. Although the sofa was the last on Børge Mogensen's drawing board, his son, Peter Mogensen, was instrumental in getting it into production and onto the national and international market.
The sofa's shell is tightly upholstered in a cubist design, with the armrests and backrest flowing together as one. The cushions are slim and elegant, to maintain the understated and sober design, yet without compromising on comfort. Visible piping along the edges draws the furniture up and gives it an even sharper look. The wooden legs lift the sofa to a height that provides an ease and comfortable sitting height ideal in a conversational environment.
The 'Mogensen Sofa' is available in a wide range of fabrics and leathers in various colours. If you would like to design your own 'Mogensen' piece of furniture, please feel free to contact us by email or phone.
