The decorative and exclusive FLOWER LAMP® was designed by Poul Cadovius in 1968, and relaunched by dk3 in 2021. Poul Cadovius was a Danish furniture architect and manufacturer. He is world renowned for his award winning shelving systems, chairs and fibreglass components. In 1948 he launched the shelving system 'ROYAL SYSTEM®' which was based on the idea that furniture should not take up floor space. FLOWER LAMP is therefore inspired by the idea of not taking up floor space. In the 1960s, lamps were used in gardens to illuminate flower beds, and with FLOWER LAMP Poul Cadovius made it possible to continue the trend in interior design.
The lamp consists of two hemispherical brass coloured aluminium shades. The shades are connected by four thin steel rods, with the upper shade acting as a light and the lower shade acting as a plant bowl. The revival of the retro lamp, can be used both as lighting or as a decoration. Use a single lamp or hang several lamps in small groups at different lengths, or do as Poul Cadovius and place the lamp close to the floor.
