Plinth Pedestal is part of MENU's ever-growing Plinth collection, which consists of multifunctional marble and stone furniture. Its sleek silhouette is uplifting in every sense and is offered in a variety of beautiful natural materials. You can optionally place your favourite flowers, your favourite picture or something else entirely on the pedestal.
The Plinth Pedestal is the conscious and minimalist choice in your interior design. Therefore, its minimalist design complements any interior design style.
The decorative item was designed by Norm Architects, founded in Copenhagen in 2008 by Jonas Bjerre-Poulsen and Kasper Rønn.
They both specialise in residential architecture as well as commercial interiors. The name Norm Architects reflects the group's focus on the importance of drawing inspiration from traditions as well as norms in design as well as architecture, which you will see in the design of the functional podium.
Materials The functional podium is made from several different types of marble: Nero Marquina marble, Grey Kendzo marble, Carrara marble, Calacatta Viola marble and Kunis Breccia stone.
Production The 2 cm thick marble slabs are cut and milled at 45-degree angles before all the slabs are glued together in ring joints. The base plate is made of plywood to which the adjustable glides are attached. The marble is treated with a sealer to protect its surface.
Maintenance Cleaning of the table is done with a damp cloth soaked in water. Marble is limestone, therefore it does not tolerate acids such as juice, vinegar or wine, as these will damage the surface. If any acid is spilt, wipe it up immediately with a damp, wrung-out cloth. Do not use scouring pads, harsh cleaners or abrasive cleaners.
