The 'Piloti' series, designed by Portuguese Hugo Passos, draws both its inspiration and its name from the pillars, hence the English 'Pillar', which support great buildings and architecture. While the legs of the 'Piloti' table, represent these pillars, the tabletop is made in an elegant thin design, giving the table its lightness and creating an almost floating monument. Table top and legs come together in a nonchalant and streamlined assembly, giving the impression of the furniture as one unit. Despite its light and sleek look, the table's construction is durable and solid thanks to the superb materials and unique carpentry craftsmanship from Fredericia Furniture's workshop. Here, wood plays the leading role in the design, where the grain is clearly presented to the viewer in combination with beautiful lacquers and oils.
The many sizes and heights make it easy to find the ideal 'Poloti' table for each interior and can be combined across size and colour to create a symphony of levels and shades in the living room or bedroom.
- Finished in light oiled, black/clear lacquered, soap treated or smoked oiled FSC certified oak.
- For cleaning lacquered wood, a mild solution of soap flakes or all-purpose cleaner is recommended. Then polish with a dry soft cloth. Never leave liquids on lacquered wood surfaces as this may cause the lacquer to delaminate.
- When cleaning soaped and untreated a soft cloth, heavily wrung in a mild solution of soap flakes. Always wipe in the grain direction of the wood. Never use water on untreated wood surfaces if it can be avoided.
- When cleaning oiled wood, a mild solution of soap flakes or a cleaner for oil-treated wood surfaces is recommended. New oil must then be added to prevent the wood from drying out.
