'The Canvas Chair' is a perfect example of designer Børge Mogensen's design philosophy, where the furniture in all its simplicity achieves its iconic status precisely on the informal design language, made of materials of the highest quality. 'The Canvas Chair' was created as an antidote to the trendy and flashy furniture of the 60s, which is one of the reasons why the down-to-earth and versatile design is still a classic in many homes around the world.
Børge Mogensen shows his love of nature and organic elements through his choice of chair materials. With a solid wood frame, particularly characterised by its perpendicular lines, Mogensen frames the chair with a strong character that is also well-proportioned to ensure the unique lounge feel found in many of the popular designer's furniture. The seat and backrest consist of two pieces of canvas stretched over the wooden frame to create an organic harmony between the two materials. Despite its simplicity, 'The Canvas Chair' is an eye-catching piece of furniture that will fill any room with its informal charm.
- Please note that you will need to purchase a cushion if you wish to do so.
- Finished in solid wood with backrest and seat in interchangeable 100% linen canvas.
- When cleaning soaped and untreated wooden surfaces, it is recommended to wipe with a soft dry cloth, or a soft cloth heavily wrung in clean water. Always wipe in the grain direction of the wood. If a wrung-out cloth is used, entire surfaces should always be covered to avoid staining. Then polish with a dry soft cloth. Dirt and grease stains should be removed with a soft cloth, heavily wrung in a mild solution of soap flakes.
- When cleaning oiled wood, a mild solution of soap flakes or a cleaner for oil-treated wood surfaces is recommended. New oil must then be added to prevent the wood from drying out.
- When cleaning Canvas, it is recommended to clean the textile regularly with a vacuum cleaner to avoid daily dirt. Spilled liquids, soak up the liquid with an absorbent clean napkin or cloth before processing the stain further. Stains that are not greasy are initially removed by gentle dabbing with a clean lint-free cloth or sponge soaked in clean warm water. Greasy stains may be removed with suitable stain removers. All types of stain removal products should always be tested on an inconspicuous area before use.
